Volunteers Initiative Nepal (VIN) is a non-government and non profit organization (NGO) which was founded by a group of development workers, educationists, advocates, social activists, cultural and tourism experts, ex-volunteers and other professionals. The organization has officially been registered under Society Act with the District Administration Office Kathmandu, Nepal (Reg No.147/062/63). This has also been affiliated to the Social Welfare Council (SWC) (Affiliation No. 20910) Nepal. VIN has been a good forum for development practitioners and professionals.
 
From its establishment in 2006, VIN has been providing most affordable  volunteering opportunities in different sectors. VIN has been mobilizing international and local volunteers in various programs providing essential trainings and counseling, which contribute significantly to the development of poor and marginalized communities of Nepal.
 
 
VIN offers an offordable  volunteering opportunity for those who want to enjoy treckking and tremendous beauty of the Himalayas. They will experience the great nature, distinct culture, and lifestyle in one of the most beautiful countries of the world. Its volunteer programs are located at out skirt of beautiful valleys and villages all over Nepal, where volunteers contribute to the development of Nepali communities and enjoy a unique opportunity of travel, adventure and exploration.
 

Our mission is to empower marginalized communities, with a focus on women and children, through enhanced volunteer programmes and whole community training to achieve democracy and raise economic productivity.

 
Objectives of Volunteers Initiative Nepal (VIN)
 
Education, health and environment are the fundamental requirements of any country to be developed. VIN therefore aims to promote quality education, health and environment in schools and communities conducting various activities independently and/or in association with like minded organizations.
  • Provide a platform for children to explore their innate talents through establishment of Children Clubs in schools.
  • Raise awareness of the need for English language and to facilitate English teaching learning environment in schools.
  • Educate and work with communities regarding environmental, health and sanitation issues.
  • Provide trainings and workshops for the community youths to develop life skills in them and create opportunities for self-employment.
  • Provide language lessons and cultural information for people who come to Nepal to study, conduct research, and do voluntary work
  • Introduce volunteers to the richness of Nepali culture and ensure a safe and memorable stay in a supportive environment.
  • Support families and children suffered from armed conflict providing them basic requirements such as food, shelter and education.
  • Encourage skilled professionals such as doctors, engineers, teachers, lawyers, entrepreneurs to allocate part of their valuable time to volunteer for the service of the poorer and marginalized people in the society.
  • Provide Sponsored Education for children from very poor and marginalized families.
  • Assist with staffing of village Health Centers.
  • Support to establish Community Learning Centers (CLC) to provide learning platforms for eliminating illiteracy and developing professional capacity of community people.
  • Provide basic hygienic skills to the poorest people of Nepal.
  • Make youths aware of HIV AIDS and Girl Trafficking and to mobilize them in the campaign.
  • Equip schools and community with basic physical infrastructures.
To achieve the above mentioned objectives, VIN has been working in partnership with all like minded Government Organizations (GOs), Non Government Organizations (NGOs) and Community based Organizations (CBOs).
